Obituary
Leo Jackson Padgett, 81, a resident of Ethel, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born on September 28, 1934 to Jesse and Azaliar Dempsey Padgett.
Leo was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Allen and Leo Jackson Padgett, Jr., his parents, and one sister, Lula Mae West. He is survived by his wife, Delores DuMond Padgett, one brother, James Alford Padgett, one sister, Emma Belle Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Leo was a devoted member of Belleview Missionary Baptist Church in Ethel all his adult life where he served in a host of different leadership positions. He served the church in any capacity in which he was needed, even mowing and caring for the church yard with his wife for many years. He was devoted to all his church family and loved them dearly.
He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1951. He lived his entire life in Ethel as a husband, father, farmer, mentor, and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman spending many hours hunting and fishing with his beloved wife of over 60 years.
