Notes

• I first got the name Orville Gregory orally from his cousin, Lou Ila Gregory Jenkins.  Lou's sister Loretta Gregory Gay reports that her mother Alpharetta Mae Gregory told her Orville's middle name was Cauble, his mother's maiden name.  I do not find his middle name in any sources, but sources are sparse.  I have spelled the name Cauble (in contrast to Cobble, as some spell it), based on three genealogies  and oher records spelling it Cauble.
  
  It is interesting that Orville's brother Virgil Gregory is reported in the 1930 census with the middle initial C, which we would think was for Cauble.  However, his name in other sources is Virgil Munroe Gregory.
  
  The Find a Grave memorial for Orville originally had no date of birth or death.  A new check in December 2019 found that a date of death had been added (bnut no source mentioned):  27 June 1929.
