I am uncertain whether Carl was born in Arkansas County or after they moved to Cleburne County. I have not found a definitive date when they made that move. I am certain they were in or near DeWitt into mid 1925, because of birth information of Gladys, born in DeWitt on 12 April 1925.

Olive Branch, Mississippi - Carl Leonard Long. A native of DeWitt, AR, Carl died July 20 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 7, 1927 to Arthur and Lillie DuMond Long. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. His career encompassed 38 years in the Motor Division of Parts Incorporated where he retired as a Vice-President. He is survived by his precious wife of 66 years, Barbara J. Long, both of his children Jennifer Britt of Huntsville, AL and Nancy Griffin of Germantown, TN, 2 sisters, Gladys Moss and Betty Peebles of DeWitt, AR; 5 grandchildren, Mark Griffin, Jr., Leslie Ann Donati, Bess Griffin Farris, Lance Britt and Amy Britt Davis; 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held this Saturday, July 23 at First Baptist Church in Byhalia, MS. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and Service at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with interment at Byhalia Cemetery. Memorials may be sent in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
