  In 1924 I found Basil and Nola in the Parkersburg City Directory.  Parkersburg is in Wood County, West Virginia.  There are some other individuals with the Higgs surname, whom I have not tried to enter or further identify.

  Basil died in February 1952.  The listing in the city directory later that year reports Nola as his widow.  I see that her son William is again listed in her household.  Notice that in this listing, the home address has changed from 317 Lynn to 1317 Lynn.

  Nola was living in North Carolina at the time of her death.  This report does say she was a resident of Sampson County.  This record provides some detail I have not found in any other public records or family genealogies.
