Notes
- The gravestone for the child named Sylvanus A Strang has only a death date, saying "Died Nov 20, 1847 L. 13 yrs." No birth date is given on the stone. The engraving appears to mean "Lived 43 years." This would make birth about 1804.
William and Polly Strang had a son named Sylvanus (the name of one of William's brother). According to Find a Grave researcher and photographer Alice, Sylvanus married someone named Mary, and they also had a son named Sylvanus (spelled Silvanus on the gravestone), with the middle initial H. But young Silvanus died at just a little over one year old. They also had a daughter named Mary who lived only into her teens.
"Sylvanus A. Strang [Find a Grave memorial] #40675275 was married to a woman named Mary, and they had two children, Sylvanus H. Strang 1842-1845 and Mary Strang 1840-1853, 26857289. Sylvanus died in 1847 and the children both died young... the three of them are buried together in a short row and I've added photos of the row to the memorials."

According to cemetery names and dates in the Baptist Church Cemetery in Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York, Silvanus H Strang has a birth date of Feb 28, 1842 and a death date of Feb 17, 1843. Mary Strang's stone says she was born 8 June 1840 and died 7 February 1853.
There appeared to be some errors in earlier transcriptions in some of the Find a Grave memorials. I have conferred with Alice, who photographed the stones and had a good onsite interpretation of the hard-to-read dates in the stone engravings, with come possible confusion between 1s and 4s in the dates. Alice updated her memorial on 8 April 2014. I have added or edited soem of the information also to clarify the inscription and relationships that were automatically and incorrectly generated by Find a Grave. Thanks to Alice for her good work on this family and the stones in this cemetery.
