Notes
- "I am William L Green (Bill) and 85 years of age. Marvel Lindsey Green (1814), son of Shadrack and Martha Jones is my great, great, great grandfather. I have done rather a good bit of research on my ancestors recently and have most all info on Marvel's son's family (Andrew Jackson Green), and Marvel Linzy Green Andrew's son and family. ... and was acquainted with many of the extended family who are now buried in Sunnyside Cemetery Sorento IL. My father was Lloyd Lionel Green Sr (1899), the only child of Marvel Linzy and Mary Margaret (Kelly) Green."

The 1910 census, taken in April, reports Marvel as 38 years old. His birth date is in June, thus this tells us his birth year was 1871, matching the year date reported on his gravestone. His age of 8 reported in the 1880 census, with census date 1 June, matches 1871, indicating his birth date for the census year had not yet occurred. If he had been born on 23 June 1872, his age on June 1 would have been only 7 years. In this date the census dates are consistent with the date of birth reported on the gravestone.

Bill Green also shared some reflections on a visit to Sorento and Sunnyside Cemetery.
"Spent this last week in Highland, Sorento and Pocahontas IL with wife's (Betty) brother, Bob. He never left the area. Also visited the Sunnyside Cemetery at the outskirts of Sorento. Sunnyside has many, many of my Green relatives, including Marvel Linzy Green and his wife (my dad's parents.) The grave sights include so, so many of my mother's Jestes relatives. Took some pictures of grave sights and will return to get even more. On the way out of Sorento, passed 3 older people sitting around a wood fire in their yard. Told Betty to stop and back up -- and I joined the 3. They did remember some of my family, and the older person remembered Betty's dad and mother from Pocahontas. Betty came out with the older lady's dad's name and that did shock her. Betty delivered daily papers to him."
