    A native of York County, Mrs. McSwain was a daughter of the late John F. Goforth and Katie Sheppard Goforth. She was the widow of James William McSwain and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

    Ida Mae Goforth McSwain, 83, of Century Care of Gastonia, formerly of 1299 C.E. Stewart Road, Clover, died March 3, 2002, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia.  She was a native of York County, S.C., daughter of the late John F. and Katie Sheppard Goforth.

    FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Tuesday, M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home
    INTERMENT: Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, S.C.
    VISITATION: One hour before the service, funeral home
    Mrs. McSwain was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
