Thomas Christopher Felps, residing on a ranch just east of Hollbrook Lake, died early this morning at the Mennonite hospital in this city, after an illness of eight weeks. Death was due to complication following heart trouble.
Mr. Felps was born in Texas and was 64 years, six months and 11 days old at the time of his death. His parents were killed by the Indians when he was but six months old. Twenty years ago he migrated to Colorado and drove into Rocky Ford, with his family in a covered wagon. A little later he moved onto the ranch just east of Holbrook Lake, where he lived continually until his death.
Deceased is survived by his wife, five sons and one daughter: William, Emmet, Elmer, John and Earl all living in this immediate vicinity, and Mrs. Nina Stubblefield, of Anthony, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel at the Mayer Funeral Home next Mon. morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will take place on the family plot in Fairview Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the chapel at the funeral home Sun. afternoon from 2 to 5 o'clock and in the evening from 7 to 9.
