In 1910, Irene and her husband Stewart Jenkins were living in his home area of Cass County, Texas.

Stewart and their daughter died in 1918 in McCurtain County, Oklahoma (just north of the Red River), probably from the flu epidemic. Thier dson Jack was also buried there in 1922, possibly also from the flu. These deaths and burials tell us that Stewart and Irene moved from Cass County, Texas, to McCurtain County, Oklahoma before 1920 and that Irene continued there after 1920. But no record of Irene and Jack in the 1920 census has been found.

Irene's burial memorial on Find a Grave has her name as Ina E. McCarrell. The gravestone photo there confirms that was the name on the marker. After Stewart Jenkins' death, in 1922 she married Simon Jasper McCarrell 1887-1983.
