Notes
- The name Millus derives from Bavaria (Germany), but the surname Millus is also found in England and Scotland. There are other Millus families in other parts of New York. John's birth in New York fits with the presence of an immigrant from Bayern (Bavaria) named Johann Millus, enumerated in the 1870 census in Erie, New York. In the 1880 census, John's parents are both reported as also born in NY, not Bavaria. Records for John are limited.
John and his wife Ruth are reported in the 1880 census in Missouri, where all the children were born. They moved to Oklahoma at an uncertain point.
