- Birdie's inscription is found on a family pillar marking graves for Alvis and Jane East, their two sons Alvis Jr and George I and Birdie. Birdie's dates show she died at about age 16. She was born in 1890, several years after Alvis died. It is not clear how she is related. She may be a niece, since several units of the East family lived aournd there.
