  The names of Benjamin's parents are given in his Washington state death record.  Note that his mother is names Martha, instead of Jane.  This may indicate her name was Martha Jane Rawlings (spelled Rollins on Ben's death record).  I wonder if this could be for Alvis, after his father.  Ben had a brother named Alvis Hertsell East Jr
  
  Also Ben's birth date given here is earlier than any other records would indicate.
