Notes
- Different public and family sources have the name spelled differently. In her formal listing of family information, Bertie Lois Dumond McSwain spelled the name Lowrey. But in her letters and in spelling it orally in a family discussion, she spelled it Lowry.
In the Essex Funeral Home registry, there is a listing for a T W Lowrey (Book VI, 85). This is Susie's brother Tilley Wirt Lowrey. We find the family name spelled that way in Wirt's usage and that of his son, Tilley Wirt Lowrey, Jr.
Susie Frances Lowry's grandson Roger Louis McSwain, son of Louis WirtMcSwain, found that Susie's family name was spelled Lowrey on his father's birth certificate.
