Notes
- The Barony of Strange of Hunstanton started as a branch of the original Strange (Le Strange) family and the Barony of Knockin (Knockyn) in Shropshire, on the border (frontier or "marches") of Wales. The Strange family was one of those charged with containing the border area with the wild Celts of Wales, who would revolt against the Normans periodically. Hunstanton is in Norfolk, and Strange (Le Strange) lines were there from the generation or two before the Norman conquest in 1066. The Le Stranges are associated with the Celtic-Norman counts and Dukes of Brittany.
