Notes

  • According to Henry's WWII draft registration, he was born in Topaz,Missouri.  Topaz is now a ghost town.

"Topaz was once a hub community in Douglas County.  Early settlersbuilt homes and businesses around a water-powered grist mill and thetown thrived for decades.  Like many mill towns, it no longer couldcompete with larger towns.  The mill and general store closed down.Ed Fillmer visited Topaz with a former resident in 1988."
