The 1920 and 1930 census reports that Pansy and her sister were bornin North Carolina.  But her obituary reports that she was born inSpartanburg, South Carolina, even stating the orignial town ofFingerville.

Pansy's sister Laura's obit also reported that Laura was born inSpartanburg, but her North Carolina Delayed birth certificateindicates Laura was born in Polk County, North Carolina.  ProbablyPansy was too.  It appers their brother Odell was born in SpartanburgCounty after they moved down there.  However, in the 1920 census,Odell was also reported as born in North Carolina.  Family memory mayhave remembered the place of residence where they moved as the birthplace of Pansy.

One nudge in that direction is perhaps the 1940 census, which reportseveryone in the household, including Lizzie, as born in SouthCarolina.
