"ADVANCE, TEXAS. Advance is a dispersed rural community near Farm Road1885 sixteen miles northwest of Weatherford in northwest ParkerCounty. In 1890 B. B. Four years later he opened a general store four milesnorthwest of Adell and encouraged Adell residents to move to his newcommunity, which he named Advance. Postal service began in 1894. "Peaster is an unincorporated community in Parker County, Texas,United States, nine miles (14 km) northwest of Weatherford.Settlement began in the 1870s when Georgia native H.H. Peaster bought160 acres (0.65 km2) of land and built a house. The community thatdeveloped near the site of his home was originally called Freemont; in1885 the name was changed to Peasterville. Throughout the 20thcentury, Peaster has served area farmers as a school and churchcommunity. During the mid-1920s the town's population grew toapproximately 300, but this was soon followed by a steep decline afterthe Great Depression. From 1975 to 1990, Peaster had around 80residents. Current estimates put the population at approximately 100."
