George Edward"Ed" Banfield, age 87, a resident of Cleburne, passed away Monday, November 28, 2005 in Cleburne. He was born December 30, 1917 in Devalls Bluff, Arkansas to Joseph Martin and Annie (Gaddy) Banfield. Ed was a member of the VFW Post #9299 in Alvarado and a 65 year member of the Haltom City Masonic Lodge. He retired from General Motors in 1973 as a foreman in Heavy Repair with 20 years of faithful service.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Glen Banfield and his wife Rhonda Jean of Floresville, Texas and Darrell Wayne Banfield and his wife Robin Martin of Lufkin; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Odela Mae in 1994; one son, Edward Martin Banfield in 2001; one brother, Raymond Leonard and one sister, Margaret Velma.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 am Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth with Brother Roland Harvey officiating.
