    Dena Quaid Baggett, 83, formerly of Odessa, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home. Viewing will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 6th at the Sherwood Church of Christ in Odessa, and services will be 10:30 a.m. there with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. that day at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.

    Dena was born July 28, 1931 in Stephens County, OK to Virgie (McNabb) and Leland Quaid. She graduated from Lamesa High School then married Billy J. Baggett June 7, 1951. Dena worked for a doctor in Borger and for Dr. Frazier in Lamesa for several years. She was a member of the Sherwood Church of Christ for over fifty years.

    Dena was a homemaker extraordinaire and an excellent cook. She cooked and cared for loved ones as well as others in her community. She enjoyed camping in the valley and picking grapefruit and oranges for friends and family. Dena also enjoyed shopping especially buying clothes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Most important to Dena were church and family; she loved them both.

    Survivors include her husband, Billy J. Baggett of Merkel; son, Rickie Baggett and wife Margaret of Borger; daughter, Melodi Hobbs and husband Ronald of Merkel; sisters, Gay Coston of Borger, Laverne Robinson and Lelia Bryant both of Odessa; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Winetta Todd; and brother, Darrell Quaid.
