    Dena Quaid Baggett, 83, formerly of Odessa, died Wednesday, April 1,2015 at her home. Viewing will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 6th at theSherwood Church of Christ in Odessa, and services will be 10:30 a.m.there with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. that dayat the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, directed by Starbuck FuneralHome of Merkel.

    Dena was born July 28, 1931 in Stephens County, OK to Virgie (McNabb)and Leland Quaid. She graduated from Lamesa High School then marriedBilly J. Baggett June 7, 1951. Dena worked for a doctor in Borger andfor Dr. Frazier in Lamesa for several years. She was a member of theSherwood Church of Christ for over fifty years.

    Dena was a homemaker extraordinaire and an excellent cook. She cookedand cared for loved ones as well as others in her community. Sheenjoyed camping in the valley and picking grapefruit and oranges forfriends and family. Dena also enjoyed shopping especially buyingclothes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Most importantto Dena were church and family; she loved them both.

    Survivors include her husband, Billy J. Baggett of Merkel; son, RickieBaggett and wife Margaret of Borger; daughter, Melodi Hobbs andhusband Ronald of Merkel; sisters, Gay Coston of Borger, LaverneRobinson and Lelia Bryant both of Odessa; seven grandchildren; andtwelve great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents;sister, Winetta Todd; and brother, Darrell Quaid.
