Ruth Maude Terry, age 92, of Acorn, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at her home. She was born on Thursday, November 11, 1920 to James Melvin and Rosa Belle Rogers Wilson in Miami, Oklahoma.
Ruth loved be a volunteered in the Foster Grandparent Program in the Acorn School District. She was very fond of all the children. She also enjoyed collecting stamps. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnest Terry; two brothers, Cleo and Henry Wilson; one sister, Ethel Valliere; one infant grandson, Tiny.
Survivors include on two son, Raymond Terry of Acorn and Clifford Terry and wife Bonnie of Sheridan; one daughter, Connie Brooks and husband, Delbert of Fayetteville; two brother, George Wilson and Joe Wilson of Spiro, Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Haines of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Owens Chapel Cemetery at Acorn. Visitation will be general.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Special Olympics, P.O. Box 16388, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72231-6388.
