- A descendant, Bill Corbin, provided some details and comments in his genealogy:
"Andrew J Corbin enlisted as a private in the Confederate Army on March 10, 1862, in Pickens County Georgia. He was assigned to Co C, 43rd Regiment, of the Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee. He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi July 04, 1863, and paroled there July 07, 1863. He later died in battle, in 1864."
