Sallie passed away some time around 1903. The 1910 census indicates that Jeff and his second wife Mattie has been married 6 years, so married about 1904. Their first child, Andrew, was 5 years old at census time.

Jeff's second wife was Mattie Shaw, whose first married neme was Price. Mattie's son James Price is in their household. The Tavoada genealogy reports that Jeff and Mattie married in 1903, which would match the report of being married 6 years in May 1910.

For some reason Jeff and Mattie moved to Sevier County, Arkansas, the DeQueen area, on the Oklahoma border. In that enumeration, Mattied is reported as 18 years older that her age of 27 in 1910.

All trhe children reported in 1920 were born in Texas, so from Jack's age, we can determine they did not move to Arkansas until after about 1906. And no other children are reported in later records, born either in Texas or in Arkansas. They did not live in Arkansas very long. They divorced and moved back to north Texas. In the 1930 censuses they are not married. It is not known if they divorced in Arkansas, or only after they moved back to Texas. The divorce record has not been found.

Between the 1920 and 1930 censuses, Jefferson married twice-widowed Katie Magby Dennis Barefoot. They were living near Seymour, Texas in Baylor County, Texas, where Katie's previous husband had died. Jeff and Mattie's son Aubrey, now age 20, is living with them. Katy and Jeff had no children together.

Note that Jefferson's son Aubrey's record reports that his father was born in Arkansas, while Jefferson's record reports he was born in Tennessee. It appears the enumerator just drew down the state info from Katie, instead of putting the correct info for Aubrey. The two younger chidlren were in Mattie's household, also reported in Baylor County, but in Seymour town.

The two younger children are stil lin Mattie's hosuehold, along with her father.
