  In 1850, James and Priscilla Gregory Webb were enumerated in Cherokee County, Alabama, where other members of this Gregory clan had moved in the last decade or so.  The birth states of the children in these two censuses tell us that James and Priscilla moved from Tennessee to Alabama about 1839, after the birth of Matilda and before the birth of George.  And in fact this in confirmed by the 1840 census for James Webb in Cherokee County, Alabama.
  
  Two pages earlier in the 1850 entry, her first cousin Lucretia Gregory was enumerated with her husband, who was also names James Webb.  On the next page was her uncle James Henry Gregory and his family.

  I am researching my Gregory line..wow, is it confusing!  My brick wall is LUCINDA GREGORY b abt 1810 (in Va or Tenn) d Dec 26 1850 in Holly Springs, Miss.  She married Wyle H Adams in 1829 in Jefferson County Tenn.  I believe she is the daughter of GEORGE GREGORY b abt 1779 d 1847 in Jefferson County Tenn. ...
  
  [Citing a cousin:] Priscilla Gregory (1817-1868).  I have as a sister to my direct Lucinda Gregory (1810-1850).  This comes from information in probate courts Re: their brother George, Jr. (1804-1840)'s estate filed in 1841 in Jefferson Co, TN.  Priscilla (and husband James Webb, Jr.) are named heirs and shown as siblings.  Lucinda (and husband "Wiley" Adams) are likewise named as heirs and siblings.  This [what?] was testimony of their father George Gregory (Sr.).
