Many genealogies report she died in 1896, but none has any record or other documentation. One or two suspiciously have the very dame date ofd death for one of Malinda's sisters. No record has been found for her death or burial. But Mary died some time before the 1880 census. That census reports Samuel as a widower, living in Kansas in the household of their daughter Mary and her huaband William Rose.
