J J PEWTHERS FUNERAL SERVICE IS HELD MONDAY
Last rites for Jesse James Pewthers were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Mountain View Church of Christ with Walter Teel, minister, officiating.
Pewthers, a resident of the community north of Mountain View since 1896, suffered a heart attack Friday and was taken to the Anadarko hospital where he died early Saturday morning.
He was born January 24, 1883, at Sunset, Texas. He moved with his family to the farm home north of Mountain View in 1896 and has lived there since. He was married in 1903 to Miss Martha Elizabeth Yates and to them five children were born. Two children, Arden and Wayne, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors included the wife of the home; two sons, J C and A V of California; one daughter, Mrs Mildred Yeats of Bartlesville; two brothers, Bill of Mountain View and John of Tacoma, Wash; one sister, Mrs Mirt McAtee, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
