Caroline stepped in to care for her sister's children after her death in 1886. She married John B Gregory and lived with him and cared for her sister's children until her death. She is buried in Enix-Sloan Cemetery in an unmarked grave. Reportedly she is not buried with her husband, but on the other side of the cemetery. No one knows exactly where. The last person who knew where she was buried was Della White, who died in 2005 before she could show her daughter where.
