- On April 16, 1666, JOHN GREGORY conveyed, by deed, to his "son in law" [stepson],Thomas Edmondson ... "Son in law" in this deed probably carries the significance of "step-son." It is not unlikely that John Gregory had married the mother of Thomas Edmondson.
