• "Thomas Terry left Martha Johnson. Both remarried. Thomas to a Mary, surname unknown. Martha, to Benjamin Combs."

  Samuel was reported in the 1850 census with his father Tho as Terry and famliiy.  It is not clear if his mother was this wife Mary or Thomas' first wife Martha (Patsy) Johnson.  We have not dates of Thomas and Patsy's separation or Thomas nad Mary's marriage.  One indication that Sam might be Patsy's son is that he was born in Kentucky, while the three younger sons here were born in Indiana.
