Services for Charles Lee “Charlie” Jones, 82, of Ada are 10:00 Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Rusty Fuller and Revs. David Gray and Don Sayre will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Jones went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Shawnee, OK. He was born January 29, 1934 in Bebee, Oklahoma to Elva and Bessie Hayes Jones. He attended school at Harden City, Allen and graduated from Sasakwa High School. He attended East Central University for two and a half years.
He married Pauline Waldroup on June 20, 1959 in Holdenville. He worked for Southwest Electric in Oklahoma City for 38 years. He was a sales representative, who really loved his job. He covered North Texas, Southern Oklahoma and parts of Arkansas. Mr. Jones was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer for 59 years, an OU fan who enjoyed all sporting events. He also enjoyed his family vacations. Mr. Jones served in the U. S. Army from 1955 - 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Painter and her husband David of Ada; son, Jerry Jones and his wife Tina of Ada; one grandson, Austin Painter of Stillwater; granddaughter, Jessica West and her husband Derek of Ada; a sister, Alta Ramsey of Shawnee; and two brothers, Richard Jones of Choctaw and Ozell Jones of Sasakwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother and sister-in-law, Derrell and Wanda Jones.
Bearers will be Austin Painter, Derek West, David Painter, Charlie Price, Lee Jackson and James Hill.
