- "Benjamin L Winter, b abt 1825 in AL. He was granted 320 acres in Unionville area. He married Mary Jane Thompson on 24 Dec 1849 and died 26 May 1851 in Cass County. They had a store where Cletus Milllsap said the Indians came to trade. 1840 Citizens of Texas, v 3, p. 313. Does not say when he arrived in Texas. Class 4 certification [for what?] - arriving [in Texas?] 31 December 1839 - 1 Jan 1842. Conditional certification - Pascal Co Dec 1841. Certified Cass Co 18 Feb 1850."
