  Marion of 1850 and 1870 is reported as Francis in 1880,  Marion's wife in 1870 was reported as Ellen and Francis' wife in 1880 is listed as Ella.  The ages of both match.  Thus we conclude his name was Francis Marion.  We later found this matches the name on his Find a Grave burial memorial.
  
  This double name matches that of a cousin named Francis Marion Few in the previous generation in South Carolina, whose daughter Letha Few moved to Tennessee and married another distant cousin Andrew Jackson Gregory.
