Obituary
Eleanor Ruth Moseley Magruder passed away on April 23, 2009, in Norfolk. Mrs. Magruder was a former resident of Charlottesville. Born in Quanah, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Bess and William Alexander Moseley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Gregory Magruder, M D.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Magruder Harris and husband, Henry Upham Harris, III, of Norfolk, her sister, Rebecca Harpool and husband, Tom Harpool, of Denton, Texas, her brother, John Moseley and wife, Janie Moseley, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, three grandsons, Gregory Magruder Harris, Edwin Upham Harris, and Johnston Moseley Harris of Norfolk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Magruder was a former music teacher in the Texas Public School System and a John Robert Powers model. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Farmington Country Club, The Contemporary Club of Albemarle, The Wednesday Music Club, The Rivanna Garden Club and The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Christ Church in Charlottesville by The Rev. Paul Walker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
