    DUMAS - Delene Christian, 79, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

    Delene Perkins and twin, Ledene, were born June 5, 1931, in Rolla, Kan., to Otto and Vera Walker Perkins, raised by Walter and Effie Perkins, following the death of their mother. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1949.

    Delene married Alfred Christian on Jan. 5, 1952, and they made their home in Dumas.

    She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Bates, Mary Hephner and Ledene Sayre; and two brothers, Riley Perkins and George Perkins.

    Survivors include her husband, Alfred; her children, Riley Christian and wife Lesa and Marilyn Christian, all of Farmington, N.M., and Curtis Christian and wife Rebecca of Wimberley; two grandchildren, Summer and Fletcher Christian, both of Farmington; a brother, John Perkins and wife Nan of Belen, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
