For some reason, the enumerator failed to record any given name for the wife or the two daughters of this family. The second daughter, reported born about 1905, may be Azalia, whose birth date on her gravestone in Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Ethel is Jan 1906.

In 1910 Jack Dempsey and his family were living in the household of one Andy Middleton, widow. Both Andy and and Jack are reported as Head of this household and owners of their home. The enumerator has recorded no first name for Jack's wife or his two daughters. No firm documentation has been found for Jack's wife, not even a marriage record, but there are some indications that she was a Middleton, including the fact that the head of this household is Andy Middleton, of an age to be the older brother of Jack's wife.
