- In 1900, Jesse Miller is 2 years old.

Wright, Lee R Brother W M Dec 1886 21 Single AR GA AR Farm Laborer
Wright, Robt Brother W M Nov 1889 10 Single AR GA AR Farm Laborer
The relationship of the Wright individuals to the Millers is not clear. They be half-siblings, or more likely step-siblings, of Robert Miller. Jesse's birth date in 1997 is a year earlier than reported by him in his WWI draft registration and in the Social Security records. The earlier report, in this case, would seem to be the more likely correct, reported, we assume, by his parents.

Registered 12 September 1918 Stuttgart, Arkansas Arkansas
Signed Jesse Miller, Monticello, Arkansas
Notice that the date of birth on the draft card is different by two days from the date on the Social Security records below. I don't understand the import of the name of the town Monticello, Arkansas, written below his name. His residence is reported as Van, which is in Arkansas County, while Monticello is two counties farther south in Drew County. In general, I give more weight to the earlier date, especially where it appears to be reported by the individual themselves. As commented above, this principle leads me to support the date reported in the 1900 census by his parents. Thus the year will come from the 1900 census, but and the day comes form the WWI draft registration. Further records may clarify this at a future time.
