  • In the 1850 census, we find Elizabeth living in the household ofThomas Carder and his wife Nancy Terry, who is the sister ofElizabeth's father George Terry.  George's wife had died at some timebefore this census.  George is living in the household of his parentsLewis and Constance Terry who are 80 and 85 at that time.  With Georgeare his two younger daughters, Nancy age 13 and Mary Ann age 8.  Lewisand George live next door to the Carders where Elizabeth Terry isliving.

    In 1860, Jane Elizabeth is married to Tilman R Harkins, and living inCherokee County, North Carolina.  The famly name is spelled Hawkins bythe enumerator.
