- 1910 lists the wife of Sanford M Tatum as Janis M Tatum, while in 1920 with some of the same children, and other data matching fairly closely, the wife of Mart Tatum is listed as Milt A. Green family memory knows Mart's wife as Milt.
The middle initial of Janis M could stand for Milt: Janis Milt. But then we have Milt A. It could be that this woman has three names: Janis Milt A? This is not a great discrepancy in light of common errors of this type in censuses, and the high incidence of other information on the family, and the same location in the two censuses.
At this point it seems likely her name was Janis Milt, and the A initial is less certain. A note on her son's memorial on Find a Grave refers to her as Melt, rather than Milt. Dave Tatum's memorial on Find a Grave says his mother was Melt Mullins Tatum, while other sources sources says her maiden anme was Corbin. Davis Sanford Tatum's grandmother was a Mullins, maybe that is where the confusion lies.

Birth dates also vary, as we often find in censuses. 1910 age 49, thus born about 1862; 1920 age 52, thus born about 1868.
This latter date is shown as the birth year for Sanford Mart on his grave in Lightning Ridge Cemetery, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. This is earlier than the dates indicated by his census reports, either 1871 (1910-20 census) or 1873 (1880 census). Perhaps the dates of birth of Milt was confused with Mart's.
