Notes

  • In 1850, Judith is enumerated in her grandparents' home with her mother Elizabeth.  Some clues indicate that George and Susannah's son who was Elizabeth's husband was named William.  William M Robertson (1824-1885) is among the Robertsons buried in the same Double Island Baptist Church Cemetery.

On memorials in Find a Grave, William's wife is indicated as one Rachel Silver (1821-1885).  If this marriage information is correct, then Elizabeth could not be William's wife.  There may be another son buried elsewhere who has not been linked to George and Susannah.

    Susannah Robeson 65 F b Virgina

    Elizabeth Robeson 35 F b North Carolina
    Judith Robeson 12 F b North Carolina

Judith's mother Elizabeth is enumerated as a member of her daughter's household in the 1860 census.  This entry also provides the correct spelling of the family name.  In various genealogies the family name is spelled Roberson, Robertson and Robinson.  These variations occur in various censuses.  In 1850, her age would make her birth in about 1815.  But in 1860 it would be 1810 or 1811.
