    Sadie Davis, 101, of Henrietta, Texas, passed away on Monday, March19, 2012 in Henrietta.

    Graveside services will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 inthe Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor of theFirst Baptist Church in Henrietta officiating. Arrangements are underthe direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.

    Mrs. Davis was born on February 12, 1911 in Ethel Arkansas to Lydia"Lida" Bertha and Thomas Jefferson Criswell. She migrated with herfamily to east Texas in the early 1930's and eventually settling inClay County. She married W.C. "Red" Davis on November 7, 1936 inHenrietta, Texas. In 1954 she made Henrietta her home, making her aClay County resident for over 76 years.

    She was the second successive maternal generation of her family tolive beyond 101 years. Her mother, Lida Criswell celebrated her 101stbirthday in Henrietta on April 14, 1988.

    The family consisted of five generations from 1972-1988 while Criswellwas living. Mrs. Davis was the oldest of five generations from1996 to2012. During the course of her life, Sadie was a mother to fourdaughters and one step-son. She was a devoted grandmother to elevengrandchildren (seven granddaughters and four grandsons), onestep-grandson, twenty two great-grandchildren and ninegreat-great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Davis was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church inHenrietta, Texas.

    Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas JeffersonCriswell (1879-1958), mother Lydia Bertha (Cockran) Criswell(1887-1988), and husband, W.C. "Red" Davis (1903-1978). Also precedingher in death are seven siblings; half-brother, Albert Levi Lee McSwain(1905-1966), sister Neoma Belle Criswell Gillispie(1909-1994),brothers Alfred P Criswell, (1907-1907), Hallie JeffersonBrown Criswell (1914-1992), Lucious Hanna Criswell (1916-1921, JamesBraxton "J.B." Criswell (1919-2010) and Hubbard Ross Criswell(1924-1988); one step-son, Withers Clay "J.R." Davis Jr (1925-1998).One step-grandson, Rusty Davis (1946-1966); great grandson, CollinRoss Sanderson (1999-1999); beloved daughter, Katherine Lee Duckett(1938-2003) preceded her in death as well.

    Mrs. Davis is survived by her only living sibling Roy Wayne Criswellof Bellevue, Texas; three daughters, Gertrude Inez Foster and husbandTed of Wichita Falls, Texas, Hallie Faye Gutierres and husband Jesseof Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Alice Lorene Bloodworth of Henrietta,Texas.

    The family will be at Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas onTuesday evening, March 20, 2012 from 6:30PM-7:30PM.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of WichitaFalls at P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308 or Clay CountyMemorial Hospital at 310 W. South St. Henrietta, Texas 76365.
