In this census, Ada is reported as only 1 year old. But an exact birth date from family sources says she was born 28 June 1877. That would mean she was 3 years old at the time of the census (or less than a month before her 3rd birthday). It is hard to imagine how parents could have mistaken a 3-year-old for a 1-year old! Or the enumerator either.
The Texas Death Certificate provides considerable additional detail over what I had found earlier.
