Note that the age reported here in 1914 is 80 years, which would make his birth about 1834.  This birth date and repsective age is what began appearing late in Charles' life.  the 1900 censusw reports his birth date as May 1834.  Early census afes, however, place his birth about 1840.  In 1850 he si reported to be 10 yeares old.  If he had been borni n 1934, he would have been 16 years old.  It is hard to believe his parents could have confused a 10-year-old with a 17-year-old!  Charles' memory, or someone's record keeping, shifted to an earlier date and older age later in his life.

The genealogy above reports a different date and place of death from the Texas Death Index.  The date of death in the official record is 3 days earlier, in Hunt County, the county south of Fannin County.  I suspect that the place of residence was Fannin County, and the date of 19 April is perhaps the date of burial rather than the date of death.  Charlie may have died in a hospital in Greenville, in Hunt County.

The location of Bartley Woods is not reported as one of the towns or cities, or as an unincorporated location in Fannin County.  I confirmed that this is the name of a cemetery, not a town.  This makes it more likely that the date reported above as the death date is the burial date.  He and his wife Elizabeth are both buried in Bartley-Woods Cemetery, also called Providence Cemetery.  This cemetery is just south of Windom, Texas.  This town is also reported as Charlie's P O address in his 1914 application for a Confederate veteran's pension.
