Notes

  • "Ruby Lakin: This is a picture of my grandmother, I have another oneof 2 sons she had with Ben.  Ben left her (assume divorce) and tookthe boys.  She later remarried and had 4 daughters. If anyone has anymore pictures of her I would appreciate it very much,"

I notice that in the 1920 census only one older child of that firstmarriage is in Ben's household.  In 1920 Clyde is 8 years old.  But inthe genealogy where I first found the photo mentioned above, Clyde isreported born in 1917.  But in July 1917, Ben was in Liberty County,Texas, and reported himself as Single, not married or divorced.  Inhis 1917 Draft Registration he reported that his mother and one childwre dependent on him.

By the time of the 1920 census, however, he has his 8-year old sonClyde in his household, and this would be the son of Ruby.  But thephoto, however, shows a much older child, at least 3 years old, butmaybe 4.  So that photo was taken likely in about 1915.  And where isthe second child in 1920?
