    In 1920, Homer's widowed father Joe (Toliver Jorile) has married widow Mollie Stroud Williams Lane, and we find Homer as a 12 year old at home with one of his older sisters Minnie.

    In 1930 at age 23, Homer is working the family farm just outside Marlow, Oklahoma, with his father.  He is the oldest child in the home, after his mother and step mother have passed away.  Stepmother twice-widowed Maggie (Crenshaw Welch) has married his father Toliver Jorile, and merged her household of four Welch children with the Green family.

    His obituary in the Marlow newspaper reports that during WWII, Homer served in the Air Force.  The Marlow Cemetery registry online says he was a corporal in the US Army.  Later he was a commander and chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Marlow.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.

    Homer died in a hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Funeral services were held on 4 January 1989 at the Church of Christ in Marlow, Oklahoma, with Wayne Price officiating.  Interment was in the Marlow Cemetery, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, Marlow.

    Homer Green, of 409 N 9th, died Monday, January 2, 1989, in an Oklahoma City hospital.  He was 82.

    Service was held at 2 pm Wednesday, Jan 4, in the Church of Christ [in Marlow, Oklahoma] with Wayne Price officiating.  Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home [Marlow].

    Born Dec 12, 1906, in Center, Indian Territory, he had lived in Marlow most of his life.  He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and served as past [post?] commander and chaplain of the VFW Chapter 4888, and a member of the Church of Christ.

    Green was married to Dorothy Lowe on Nov 16, 1946, in Marlow.

    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; a daughter Lou Ada Horning of Marlow; two sons, Joe Green of Marlow and David Green of Lone Grove; four sisters, Pearl Duesman of Duncan, Hollie Hill of Midland, Texas, Ann Ball of Columbus, Ohio and Minnie Simpson of Williamstown, Kentucky; two brothers, Don Green of Marlow and Berley Welch of Hartsburg, Missouri; and five grandchildren.

    Serving as pallbearers were Edwin Duesman, Fait Green, Everett Gregory, James Lowe, Curtis Hutton Jr, and Elvin Thornton.
