    SHELBY - Mrs. Martha Theo McSwain Dellinger, 81, passed awayWednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.

    She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Gaffney, S.C., to the late Hugh K.McSwain and Lizzie Adeline Fulton McSwain. She graduated from ShelbyHigh School and worked with her husband on the dairy farm and retiredfrom Doran Textiles as a bookkeeper. She was a member of BuffaloBaptist Church, the Adult Senior Ladies Sunday school class and theFallston Eastern Star. She loved to cook for her family and theHomeless Shelter of Shelby, enjoyed flower gardening and spending timewith her family and sharing family memories.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,the Rev. Harold B. Dellinger; five brothers, Kinard McSwain, WylieMcSwain, Dempsey "Buster" McSwain, Claude McSwain and Rodgers McSwain;and four sisters, Velvo McSwain, Emmie McSwain Dixon, Flora McSwainEvans and Gladys McSwain Kelly.

    Mrs. Dellinger is survived by her two sons, Harold Broadus Dellingerand wife, Diane, and Michael Adrian Dellinger and wife, Lena, all ofShelby;
    grandchildren, Karen Dellinger Moss and husband, Scott, of Shelby,Christopher M. Dellinger and Heather of Weaverville, Zachary A.Dellinger, Joshua C. Dellinger and Carrie A. Dellinger, all of Shelby;
    two great-grandchildren, Jada and Jackson Dellinger;
    two sisters, Clydie McSwain Kaylor of Gastonia and Maude McSwainWhisnant of Polkville;
    sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Elizabeth D. and Lloyd Massey ofDudley, Frances Williams of Greenville, S.C., Joyce Dellinger ofMorganton, Marilyn D. Hoyle of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kay McSwain ofMelbourne, Fla., and Dwight and Lillian Dellinger of Fallston;
    and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members andfriends.
