Two children are still in the home, plus two adopted children namedWright.

Living next door are Mary's father William McSwain and stepmother J(Judith Hamrick).  Two children are living in the home, one a widoweddaughter.  Age problems make this family connection uncertain, andthough this is the family configuration reported commonly in McSwainfamily compilations, there may be a generation missing, or othererrors.

Mary is the daughter of WIlliam McSwain and Mary Nancy Bridges.Mary's father William is thought to have been born in 1792 or so, yetin censuses, the husband of Judith has an age making him born about1806.  J's age here, presumably the correct Judith Hamrick, has an ageconsistent with her birth in 1809 reported in genealogies.  William'sage and birth year are the problem.  B McSwain here matches BerryMcSwain who appears in the family lists.  M Lovelace matches MaryPolly McSwain, widow of William Lovelace.
