    Born Oct. 30, 1941, in Burneyville, to Roy Leverne and Ethel BeatriceJackson Sloan, he died Monday, July 7, 2008, in Healdton. He marriedKay Wright, on July 27, 1963, in Pruitt City.  He was preceded indeath by his parents and one brother, Don Sloan.

    He grew up in Burneyville, graduated from Turner High School in 1959,and attended Murray State College for two years.

    He was employed by Kirkpatrick Supply for almost 20 years beforebeginning his own roustabout service, later becoming a contract pumperfor several companies.

    He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and any outdooractivity. He loved his grandchildren and was known as PaPa by them.

    Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Dennis Sloan Jr. andhis wife Linda, Velma; two daughters, Terri Wallace, Collinsville, andTammi Sloan, Ardmore; a brother, Dale Sloan, Morrison; two sisters,Linda Kerley and Delpha Ward, both of Mansfield, Texas; ninegrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
