Edgar James Fullingim was born on Dec 29, 1891, at Ardmore, Indian Territory, the fourth of eight children born to Isaac Foster and Martha Ann "Mattie" (Golden) Fullingim. He had just turned two years old when his next older brother, Horris Lee, died at age three from smoke inhalation and burns he received when his night clothes caught on fire. Edgar was only six years old when his mother died from "childbirth fever" a few days after she had given birth to her eight child (fifth son).
MILITARY RECORD: Edgar James Fullingim enlisted on 7 June 1917 at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army on 14 May 1919; A.S. C. No. 1489687, Pvt. 1st Class, Unassigned (Last assigned) Co. "I", 165th Infantry.

Shortly after his discharge Edgar was married to Julia M. Tatum on 24 May 1919 at Ada, Pontotoc Co., Oklahoma. Together they had eight children, Joffrey (1920), twins Floyd and Lloyd (1921), twin daughters who were stillborn, Joe Bob "J.B." (1927), Eugene (1928), and daughter Mintha (1931).
OBITUARY
EDGAR JAMES FULLINGIM
Funeral services for Edgar James Fullingim, 504 E. 7th, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Fullingim died Monday, 14 June 1971, in a local hospital. He was 79.
He was a retired fireman for Ideal Cement Plant. He was a member of the American Legion and was a veteran of World War I.
At the time of his death Edgar was survived by his wife, Julia, of the home; five sons, J.J., and Lloyd, Ada; Eugene, Oklahoma City; J.B., Covina, California; and Floyd, Tulsa; one daughter, Mrs. Buell Jones, Ada; two brothers, J.E. [Joe Ernest] and Henry, Antlers, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Vance Wyley was in charge of the services and interment was in Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Fullingim's grandsons were the casket bearers.
