- Joan Stafford was the second wife of Gilbert Lord Talbot.
Her parents are named in the Complete Peerage:
"Gilbert next married Joan Stafford Baroness Cherleton, daughter of Ralph De Stafford Earl Of Stafford and Margaret De Audley Baroness Audley, before 16 Nov 1379"

Burke, we see, reproted that Joan's mother was Margaret Audley. But other soruces report that she was the eldest child of Ralph de Stafford and his first wife Katherine de Hastang [Catherine Hastings Stafford (1300 - 1335). But even then, they report that Ralph married Margaret de Audley "by 06 Jul 1336." Joan is reported born in 1336, though I have not seen an exact date.
