Note that this genealogy reports that Newton was born in Navarro County, where he was living in 1918 when he registered for the draft.  However, this is an error, since public records establish his presence in early life with his family in Independence County, Arkansas.

It seems likely he was born in Independence County, Arkansas.  His presence in Navarro County, Texas, is only related to a later short period in Texas, and he was back in Arkansas 2 years later.  Independence County is in the east area of Arkansas.

Isaac was in his brother's household in 1900 for the census in Yell County Arkansas, and that census reports him born in Arkansas. In 1910, when his son Isaac Newton Jr was age 1, he and his first wife Bertie Redditt were in Yell County in west central Arkansas.  Newton married Dora Price in 1935 and they had one son named Corwin Roger.
