Notes

  • The first record I find of Samuel O McSwain, Jr, is the 1850 census. His father died in abt 1838, according to information in the Hamrick Data Pages.  In 1850 his mother Mary (Lovelace) McSwain is head of the household with her three children, Asa, Lucinda and Samuel.  There is also an uncertain Zechariah McSwain, who appears to be instead Zechariah McKinney who married Lucinda.
